Preparation and Properties of Polyurethane Composite Foams with Silica-Based Fillers

چکیده
Polyurethane composite foams were prepared by adding three different types of silica materials as a filler to improve the mechanical and thermal insulation properties. The first type consists aerogels with high-volume pores, expectation improving PU because aerogel itself has superior Silica nanoparticle is used for second that size very similar pore comparison. last produce polyurethane foam uses sol–gel reaction polysiloxane reacts polyols during urethane forming process. In particular, in case nanoparticles, their surfaces are modified APTES then polymeric methylene diphenylene diisocyanate (PMDI) increase interaction between polymer matrix inorganic fillers. structure was successfully produced all cases foams. As expected, properties effect enhanced addition fillers, but found be closely related cell small amounts fillers improves properties, higher amount filler, worse they due agglomeration on walls. dispersion added within cells should controlled effectively. Surface-modified exhibit better enhancement

Characterization of Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Lignosulfonate- and Hydrolyzed Lignosulfonate- based Polyurethane Foams
Lignosulfonate and lignosulfonate hydrolyzed under alkaline conditions were used as the polyol components in polyurethane foam formulations. Although the treatment increased hydroxyl group abundance, it did not improve the applicability of hydrolyzed lignosulfonate in polyurethane foam. Thus, the use of original lignosulfonate yielded foams of thermal stability and mechanical properties compara...
متن کاملPreparation and characterization of triple shape memory composite foams.
Foams prepared from shape memory polymers (SMPs) offer the potential for low density materials that can be triggered to deploy with a large volume change, unlike their solid counterparts that do so at near-constant volume. While examples of shape memory foams have been reported in the past, they have been limited to dual SMPs: those polymers featuring one switching transition between an arbitra...
متن کاملEffect of non-acoustic properties on the sound absorption of polyurethane foams
In this paper the influence of non-acoustic properties on the sound absorption coefficient of polyurethane foams as a porous medium is investigated. Biot’s equations with transfer matrix method, as the solution approach are employed to evaluate the sound absorption coefficient of selected polyurethane foams. The major issue is the dependency of non-acoustic properties on each other which makes ...

A photo-polymerizable Bisphenol-A diglycidylether methacrylate resin was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy after its irradiation under different conditions to identify the best curing. Bonding-agent free composites with particles of ball-milled glass, silica and titania at loading of 10 and 50%wt were prepared, and their viscoelastic properties investigated by dynamic mec...
متن کاملCorrelation Between the Acoustic and Cell Morphology of Polyurethane/Silica Nanocomposite Foams: Effect of Various Proportions of Silica at Low Frequency Region
Introduction: Reducing noise pollution has become an essential issue due to the increase in public concern and also social demands for a better lifestyle. Using sound absorption materials is a preferred method to reduce the noise pollution. Undesirable properties of pure polyurethane such as poor absorption of mechanical energy in narrow frequency ranges can be improved by providing polymeric n...
